DESCRIPTION:
Vision Anti-Blok Ventricular Catheters are designed with four axial channels at the tip with recessed rectangular molded holes. The channels promote free flow of CSF and discourage occlusion of the holes by debris, tissue, choroid plexus or ventricle walls. The reservoir may be tapped with a 25G or smaller Hueber-point needle for CSFsampling or injection of antibiotics or contrast media. A polyester reinforced base extends beyond the reservoir diameter to allow fixation sutures. A removable nylon plug allows conversion of ventriculostomy reservoir to use as a shunt reservoir.

Vision catheters are manufactured of clear silicone elastomer tubing with an encapsulated barium stripe allowing the physician to check for air bubbles in the system prior to closing. The encapsulated barium does not come into contact with CSF or tissue and therefore is not susceptable to complication associated with barium catheters.A stainless steel stylet is provided. Anti-Blok Ventricular catheter-reservoirs are also available with fishmouth slits for endoscopic placement.
