DESCRIPTION:
Rickham Type Reservoirs are made of nylon, polysulfone, or MRI compatible surgical stainless steel reservoir with a radiopaque silicone elastomer cap and side-arm. The low carbon stainless steel is non-magnetic to minimize MRI artifact. The nylon and polysulfone reservoirs create no MRI artifact.

The reservoir may be tapped with a 25 G or smaller Hueber-point needle or equivalent for CSF sampling, injection of antibiotics or contrast media. A removable nylon plug is included to allow conversion of the ventriculostomy reservoir for use as a shunt reservoir.
