Application:
The Fifth Ventricle ICP Monitoring and CSF Drainage Systems are designed for continuous external drainage of CSF. ICP is controlled by adjusting the height of the drop chamber of the bag in relation to the patient, thereby establishing the desired intracranial pressure. Fine volume may be collected and measured in the 100 ml collection chamber. After recording the fine volume, fluid is drained into the 800 ml collection bag. When full, the bag may be disconnected from the collection chamber and replaced.

Alternately, the fluid may be aspirated into a syringe through the polyisoprene injection site at the bottom of the collection bag for disposal. Use of sterile technique with this method maintains the integrity of the “closed” system, thereby reducing the risk of patient infection. All Phoenix products are LATEX FREE.
