THE Phoenix CRx™ Universal Shunt

DESCRIPTION:
The Phoenix CRx Universal Shunt consists of one silicone elastomer, CRx slit valve positioned in a polysulfone housing, which is enclosed in a cylindrical silicone elastomer pumping chamber with attached 90 cm, closed end distal tube.

The valve mechanism inside the polysulfone valve housing is thimble-shaped with a cross-shaped slit in its distal end. The mid-portion of the cylindrical silicone body serves as a pumping chamber.

A Polyester re-inforced silicone suture tab is bonded to the pumping chamber to permit suture fixation to the pericranium.

There is an integral polysulfone connector at the inlet of the valve housing to facilitate connection of the ventricular catheter. The distal tube may be cut to suit the requirements of the patient.

A radiopaque pressure designation code of one to three radiopaque dots, indicating low, medium, or high pressure, appears on the connector tube over the pumping chamber.

Included with the valve is a disposable blunt tip, stainless steel luer adaptor to facilitate pre-implant valve preparation.

The Universal Shunt is a 1/2 unitized non-metal, progressive ressistance CRx valve and pumping chamber, attached 90 cm vision closed end distal catheter (catheter may be cut to desired length),
an 8 cm or 11 cm Vision SpiralPort ventricular catheter, stylet, burrhole catheter support and flushing tube.

Available as Shunt Only or in kits featuring a shunt, 46 or 65 cm passer and sheath or shunt and sheath only.
