The Phoenix Gravity Compensating Reservoir is a unique patent pending anti-siphon device which is designed to prevent overdrainage. Calibrated and tested under fluid flow conditions for dependable performance the precision sapphire ball-in-cone design provides precise closing pressures. Manufactured of polysulfone and tantalum components, the reservoir provides a completely MRI compatable valve with minimal artifact.

The GCR is available in 3.8 mm and 5 mm profile suitable for pediatrics and adults and in five gravity compensating pressure levels to provide options to suit every patient. The Rickham style reservoir may be used for tapping and infusion of medications and is supplied with a ventricular catheter and stylet for use as a component to any differential pressure valve system.

For proper operation the catheter must be placed in the frontal horn with the rickham reservoir directly above the frontal horn as shown. The GCR is available alone for use as an accessory to a shunt system or with the Accura Elite Shunt as a complete system.
